Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal CHUM – Critical Hospital HVAC Systems
Implementation of complex HVAC systems for a very large-scale hospital center.
Project carried out in Montréal (Québec) over a period of 6 years. The work covered multiple phases and lots of a major hospital center, including technical and mechanical interventions in highly specialized medical environments, spread across numerous levels and buildings.
Phase 1 – Block D (SS-4 to SS-1 and P1 to P5)
Phase 1 work was carried out in Block D, including consultation rooms, examination rooms, minor surgery suites, magnetic resonance imaging areas, as well as parking levels. The interventions were technical and mechanical in nature, adapted to hospital requirements.
Block D – Lot 2B (N3 to N5)
Lot 2B, covers three levels including several operating rooms, magnetic resonance imaging rooms, angiography, ultrasound, and tomography suites, as well as offices, requiring precise and reliable HVAC systems.
Block D – Lot 4 (N8 to N10)
Lot 4 consists of electrophysiology, hemodynamics, and injection rooms, as well as coronary care units, with stringent requirements for air quality and climate control.
Block D – Lot 5 (N11 to N19)
Lot 5, covering nine floors with more than 700 patient rooms, requiring reliable, quiet air distribution that complies with hospital standards.
Building A’
Complete installation of ventilation and air conditioning systems for a 10-storey building with 3 basement levels, including two mechanical rooms and mechanical shafts. The building houses various laboratories, microscope rooms, and offices.
Specialized equipment and filtration
Installation of several modular units, including nine exhaust fans with acceleration cones, as well as HEPA filtration units of the BIBO (Bag-in/Bag-out) type.
NC-3 Laboratory – Building A’ (Level 6)
The NC-3 laboratory work includes the installation of ultra-tight ductwork (0 CFM leakage) and HEPA BIBO filtration units, ensuring maximum protection against cross-contamination.
Deployment of critical hospital HVAC systems across multiple buildings, levels, and specialized lots.
